The vision for the ministry of Building Godly Generations was born in the heart of Mike & Peggy Stanley as a newlywed couple 45 years ago. Without fully understanding what the vision entailed, they dedicated their marriage and home to giving God glory in whatever manner He should choose. In the ensuing years, they have followed this leading to serve in full-time ministry, all with a steadily growing family. Mike served for 10 years as an assistant pastor in Stilwell, Oklahoma, before going out as church planter to northern Arkansas in 1990. Under his leadership, Friendship Baptist of Highland, Arkansas, grew from the Stanley family alone, to becoming a thriving New Testament church with a testimony of producing strong marriages and flourishing families.
The Stanleys have eight living children, all married, and 40 grandchildren (more on the way) and two great-grandchildren. They have experienced the grace of God in their own marriage and now enjoy watching it continue in the lives of their children and grandchildren. From this life experience that is anchored in the eternal truths of God’s Word, they have devoted their remaining years to the generations coming behind and those yet to be born. Their heart is to come alongside pastors in local churches to strengthen and aid in the development of Christ-honoring families. Brother Stanley has a passion to challenge men to reach their full potential in Christ as guardians and guides of their homes. He speaks at many men’s events, conferences and retreats, as well as doing a number of faith and family focused revivals, conferences and special days, annually.
They continue to make their home in Highland, Arkansas, where they are sent out of Friendship Baptist Church of Highland under Pastor Barrett Harrelson. Brother Stanley is an avid hunter for deer and turkey as well as enjoying playing softball when he can. He has served for years as a chaplain with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, a ministry opportunity he cherishes. Mrs. Stanley has been a faithful homemaker, who loves reading and serving her husband, family and church family behind the scenes.
